Our last class was eye opening and inspiring for me. It made me realize how much the media really does influence my life. But it's the KINDS of media that I use that can influence me for good rather than degrading myself and feeling worthless. I shamelessly cried the first time I saw this music video and I thought the message was so powerful and beautiful. Go Colbie
I love love love this music video! I loved it so much I made my husband sit down and watch it with me! It's real, it's a fresh breath of air compared to all the sexualized female artists we see in the media (Beyonce, Miley, Lady Gaga...the list goes on....) It's amazing that as a people we want to praise women and help each other up, but there are so many (too many) examples of woman using themselves as objects and sex symbols instead (false way to lift other women up). I love that this video leaves me feeling more comfortable in my own skin and wanting to love others. That feeling is a Godly feeling and I hope that I can act in such a way that other women will feel good about themselves. Thanks for posting!
Oh my gosh. I was not expecting "look at and comment on 2 classmate blogs" to be such an emotional experience! Gee! Man, I'm a mess now. That was so refreshing. Thank you for posting that. I wish we were all more eager to accept ourselves and others despite appearances.
